Xiomara España is a senior in graphic design at RISD, with experience designing books, brand identities, typography and photography. Xiomara is fueled by her passion for incorporating her Latin culture and upbringing in Los Angeles. She hopes to inspire change and educate visually within the design world.

Her skills have contributed to her most recent internship at MTV in New York City this past summer where she assisted the creative director on digital, print and broadcast graphics for Video Music Awards, Movie Awards, scripted and reality shows and more, including logo development for the return of Making the Band. Meanwhile, she continues to further her book making skills by designing cookbooks of her own family recipes as well as redesigning cookbooks such as, “Carbs” by Laura Goodman.

Xiomara believes color and narrative are most important in her artistic practice and she lives this out by furthering her education by concentrating in the Literary Arts + Studies department, enrolling in Intro to Fiction & Intro to Poetry at Brown University, and acting as president of RISD Feminists for the past two years.
