While supermarkets have always been a great part of my childhood, it was the differences in them that stood out to me for growing as a child of immigrants we purchased food from a variety of places. It was in the small Mexican supermarket near my home that I decided to take inspiration from.

I decided to make a photo book of images I created by stylizing these candies and other iconic snacks I ate as a child in a colorful, pop way. By doing so, I emphasize the color, type, material (as I once did as a child). The final book is titled "Merienda" which means snack in Spanish. ​​​​
